Quotas for 2017

The revised national quotas for WESPAC 2017, based on the results of WESPAC 2015 in Perth are calculated according to the following criteria:

Seven countries participated with less than a full quota, and stay unchanged: Bahrain (2), Canada (9), Malta (3), Northern Ireland (5), Philippines (2), Scotland (5), Trinidad and Tobago (3)

Countries that did not participate at all, also maintain their quotas.

There were 10 countries represented that had one spot allowed, and filled it. To gain a spot, they needed to finish in the top 60%, that is, in the top 78. One of these countries (Zambia) had an additional player, so only their top finisher is counted.

Zambia69
Indonesia102
Romania105
Norway110
Sierra Leone113
Hong Kong123
Japan127
Kuwait128
Austria129

Thus, Zambia gains one spot and all the rest stay at one.

There were 15 countries with more than one spot that filled their quotas. These countries are ranked by the average finish of their players. Six of these countries had additional players due to wild card spots, the LCQ, or host country spots; only the number of top players equal to their quota number are counted for these countries. Countries whose average rank was in the top half (top 65) each will gain one spot.
