One of the stated aims of WESPA is to institute International Ratings in order that players from different countries can be compared. A Ratings sub-committee has been formed to investigate this issue.

The Ratings Committee members are:

Chair: Sam Kantimathi (United States)
Bob Jackman (Australia)
John Grayson (Wales)
John O'Laughlin (United States)
Radhika Mahalingaiah (India)

In the meantime, Bob Jackman's Unofficial SOWPODS Ratings are generally regarded as the best available guide for ranking players Internationally. They are not, however, formally endorsed by WESPA.
