Malta double act

The 'Malta double' — what the organisers are calling a "scintillating spectacle of competitive Scrabble in two acts" — is just under a month away. It begins with the third European Open, May 3–6, and continues with the fourth Malta Open, May 13–15. The two events offer the prospect of a total of 56 games and €3600 in prizes.

Both tournaments will be directed by Amy Byrne of Scotland, the chair of WESPA's rules committee, and broadcast live on the web by John Chew of Canada. For more details of the tournaments see the Schedule page.
